India Investors Showcase 2023 attended by GBC Co-Chair, Lavanya Raja

The GIO UK team recently attended the India Investors showcase on 9 February, hosted at the Taj Hotel in London. The showcase provided a comprehensive overview of India's most promising investment opportunities in 2023, highlighting the country's potential, strengths, and key trends accelerated by India's G20 presidency.

Organised by the High Commission of India, UK, the showcase featured prominent speakers such as Mr. Suman Bery, Vice Chairman of NITI Ayog, India, Mr. Mark Tucker, Group Chairman of HSBC, Mr. Shravan Joshi, Policy Head of High Growth Markets at the City of London, Mr. Richard Heald, Chairman of UKIBC, Mr. Prasad Gadkari, Chief Strategic Officer of NIIF, Mr. Jaakko Kooroshy, Global Head of Sustainable Investments Research, London Stock Exchange, and Mr. Laxmikumaran, Legal Advisor, Department of Commerce, India.

GIO's executive committee members, Mr. Mahendra Singh Jadeja (Vice President) and Ms. Lavanya Raja (Chief Economist), were among the esteemed delegates invited to join this forum.

The key themes of discussion included India's renewable energy sector, green mobility, financial inclusion, and infrastructure. India's strengths, including a large and growing population, a robust regulatory framework, a favorable business environment, and supportive government policies, were highlighted. Additionally, the key trends in India, such as digital transformation, sustainability, innovation, and emerging technologies, were discussed.
